McDougall Gauley LLP is proud to donate $750,000 to the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan (“USask”). This donation is made during the Be What the World Needs campaign, an event dedicated to establishing strong foundational learning and career support.
McDougall Gauley’s donation funds will support important initiatives at the College of Law:
- The establishment of an endowment fund awarded to three students in need, including one for a student who is a former police officer, or the child or grandchild of a police officer ($300,000);
- The College of Law's First-Year Welcoming Ceremony, an annual event to celebrate the incoming first-year law students and welcome them to the College of Law ($200,000);
- The Saskatchewan Law Review, a student-managed editorial board which oversees the publication of the academic journal by the same name, including the creation of scholarships for its student editors ($200,000); and
- The study of business law, donated by Michael W. Milani, K.C., Chair of the firm's Executive Committee ($50,000).
Michael had this to say on the firm's support for the College of Law, and its donation:
McDougall Gauley LLP is proud to continue its support of the USask College of Law. We trace our roots as a Saskatchewan law firm back to 1891. The college also has a long and successful history, having been established in 1912, meaning our law firm and the college have been closely linked for over 110 years.
Our firm is committed to supporting and enhancing the education offered by the college by increasing access to legal education through financial awards to students, including to those students selected to participate in the Saskatchewan Law Review program.
The firm is proud to contribute to the College of Law, its students, and the broader Saskatchewan community.
