Jacqueline Sirois is a bilingual litigator practising public law, with a focus on administrative, constitutional, and criminal law. She has experience clerking at trial and appellate levels, including at the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, which deepened her appreciation for advocacy.
Jacqueline Sirois began her legal career as a law clerk at the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, where she clerked for the Honourable Chief Justice Robert W. Leurer and the Honourable Justice Jillyne Drennan. She had experience working in many areas of law, which reflects her versatility in addressing various legal problems. In 2026-2027, she will clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada for the Honourable Justice Mary T. Moreau.
Jacqueline earned dual degrees in common law and civil law from McGill University. During law school, she led and contributed to several impactful initiatives, amongst which she coordinated the McGill Chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada, served as a Student Advocate with the Legal Information Clinic, and founded McGill’s first team to compete in the Michel-Bastarache moot competition. She also clerked at the Superior Court of Québec (Criminal Division) for the Honourable Justice Éric Downs.
Jacqueline has a keen interest for research and continued education. She had the honour of presenting her thesis entitled “A Retroactive Modification to Saskatchewan's Constitution: Derailing Constitutional Amendments in Canada?” at the 2nd Graduate Conference on Constitutional Change hosted by the University of Texas at Austin and at the ICON-S Annual Conference in Madrid, Spain in 2024.
Prior to law, Jacqueline had a six-year career working at the Parliament of Canada, namely in the Office of the Speaker of the Senate and in the Office of the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel. She carries with her a strong understanding of the functioning of all levels of government and its institutions.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Jacqueline is a proud Fransaskoise. She enjoys attending community events and volunteering her time on boards and at youth activities.
