It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of our friend and colleague, David Jackson McKeague. K.C., on January 30, 2026.
Dave was a proud graduate of the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. He was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1974, and spent his entire career practicing law with, and building what is now, McDougall Gauley LLP. He was a well-respected member of the Saskatchewan business community, and was recognized in "Best Lawyers in Canada" in five different categories of corporate and securities law. He was still very actively practicing law, as Counsel to our firm, at the time of his death.
We remember Dave as a leader in our firm and the commercial law bar, a person devoted to his clients (many of whom became his close friends), and a mentor to many.
We extend our sincere condolences to Dave’s family and friends, and all our colleagues who had the privilege of knowing him.
Those wishing to make a donation in Dave’s honour are asked to consider the Kidney Foundation of Saskatchewan at kidney.ca or St. Paul's Hospital & Foundation, directed to Interventional Radiology at sphfsk.ca/donate.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held in early March, 2026. His full obituary can be found here: https://thestarphoenix.remembering.ca/obituary/david-mckeague-1093485372.
