McDougall Gauley LLP is one of Saskatchewan's oldest law firms with approximately 100 lawyers practicing in two locations. Our firm is now accepting applications for an IT Support Engineer to work in our Saskatoon office.

The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of Windows desktops and IT infrastructure with a focus on desktop configuration and troubleshooting, networking, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, and support for on-premises and cloud/SaaS environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in IT system support (previous experience in a law firm would be an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of network, on-premises, and cloud/SaaS technologies
  • Experience and knowledge with cyber security principles, best practices, tools, and technologies
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving skills, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • IT certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, or other recognizable organizations are desirable
  • Experience working in a small IT team or in a role requiring a broad range of technical and end-user support responsibilities
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide responsive white-glove service to lawyers and staff via phone, email, or ticketing system
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and access issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Support a broad range of day-to-day IT operations including end-user support, device administration, account management, and projects
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while taking ownership of issues through resolution
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (e.g., Active Directory and Microsoft 365/Entra)
  • Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and asset inventory
  • Participate on IT project teams for upgrades, migrations, and system implementations
  • Collaborate with others on the IT team to ensure seamless integration of new systems and technologies
  • Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to ensure the company's on-premises and cloud/SaaS systems remain secure, supported, and up to date
