McDougall Gauley LLP is one of Saskatchewan's oldest law firms with over 100 lawyers practicing in two locations. Our firm is now accepting applications for a Chief Information Officer (CIO).
The CIO will possess a strong background in legal technology, as well as excellent leadership, communication and strategic planning skills.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of IT infrastructure, with a focus on network, virtualization, cybersecurity, email systems, and other general IT functions. This role requires both Windows and Linux knowledge, as well as database expertise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Master’s Degree is a plus.
- 12+years progressive IT experience. 7+ years of people leadership.
- Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure (previous experience in a law firm would be an asset)
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, network and virtualization technologies and database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience and knowledge with cyber security principles, best practices, tools and technologies.
- A strong client service philosophy to provide technology and support services in a highly responsive environment.
- A strategic orientation that anticipates and adapts to changing business needs.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving skills, and time management skills.
- Possess a results-oriented mindset. Able to deliver outcomes through collaboration and influence.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- IT certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or other recognizable organizations are desirable.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead development and implementation of the firm’s technology strategy.
- Lead design planning, implementation and maintain IT infrastructure for on premise and cloud enterprise systems.
- Administer and manage network and virtualization technologies
- Ensure the security of the firm’s data, systems and IT infrastructure through the implementation of best practices, policies and procedures.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the IT department and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Administer and manage databases, including troubleshooting and identify performance optimization to support enterprise database applications.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal customers and stakeholders.
- Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to ensure the company's IT infrastructure is up-to-date.
