McDougall Gauley LLP is one of Saskatchewan's oldest law firms with around 100 lawyers (200 people total). Our firm is now accepting applications for an IT Applications Manager, on-site in either our Saskatoon or Regina office.
As a key member of the IT Management Team, the Applications Manager for our law firm, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our suite of off-the-shelf applications. Leveraging your expertise in both technology and legal operations, you will ensure that our applications empower our legal professionals to deliver exceptional service to our clients while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in law firm enterprise applications (SQL applications, Document Management, financial management systems, Microsoft Office, document comparison, legal research, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including project management, team coordination, team participation, and decision-making.
- Comfortable with SQL DBA activities (reports and maintenance)
- Cloud/SaaS experience strongly preferred
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving skills, and time management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Application Selection and Implementation:
- Research, evaluate, and select off-the-shelf applications that align with the needs and objectives of our firm.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define requirements and priorities for new applications.
- Lead the implementation process, including configuration, customization, and integration with existing systems.
- Application Maintenance and Support:
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance and second-level support of all applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting escalated issues.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues, apply patches, and implement updates.
- User Training and Adoption:
- Develop and potentially even deliver training programs to educate staff on the features and functionalities of our applications.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and adoption to maximize the utilization of our application suite.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to users to promote efficient and effective use of applications in their daily workflows.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor the performance and usage metrics of our applications to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze data and feedback to make informed decisions about optimizing workflows and enhancing user experience.
- Work closely with internal teams to streamline processes and drive efficiency through technology solutions.
- Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to ensure the company's applications are strategically up-to-date
