McDougall Gauley LLP is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our Regina office. Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Operations, this role supports the firm’s day-to-day accounting function in a fast-paced professional services environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust transactions, reconciliations, and reporting while contributing to a collaborative and well-established law firm.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable, including client account follow-up, collections, and accurate posting of incoming payments
- Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, entry, and payment support
- Prepare account and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy
- Record cash receipts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
- Process trust transactions and support trust reconciliations in accordance with firm procedures
- Post and reconcile disbursements and assist with month-end and reporting activities as needed
- Provide additional accounting and administrative support to the firm as required
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience; experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is an asset
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Experience with accounting or legal practice software is an asset
- Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to handling financial information with discretion and professionalism
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while delivering consistent, high-quality work
