Paul Wood practices defence litigation with a focus on professional discipline, regulatory, and insurance matters.

Overview

Paul has represented clients in various Saskatchewan and Alberta courts as well as numerous administrative tribunals involving:

  • Defence of law enforcement and medical professionals
  • Insurance litigation and appeals of injury awards
  • Occupational Health and Safety charges 
  • Criminal conviction appeals
  • Agricultural disputes
  • General civil litigation 

Paul’s insurance litigation practice is built on his broad experience, which includes:

  • Acting as in-house counsel for Canada’s largest property and casualty insurer
  • A year-long secondment to a Saskatchewan-based insurer
  • Continuing to act as external counsel to numerous insurers  

While in law school, Paul was elected 3rdyear class representative which included co-chairing the graduation committee. He also served as manager and guitarist of the Dissent (U of S Law’s charity rock band).

In his spare time, Paul enjoys skiing, fishing, hockey, skydiving, and playing guitar and piano. He maintains involvement in his family’s farming operation near Pense, SK.
