While representing clients in a variety of general and commercial litigation matters, the main focus of Gary Zabos' practice is in the area of defence representation in civil claims, and insurance law. He has appeared as counsel before all levels of court in Saskatchewan, and the Supreme Court of Canada. In addition, he has represented clients on claims in the Federal Court, Superior Courts in Alberta and the Yukon, as well as before arbitrators, administrative boards, and tribunals including the Saskatchewan and Canada Labour Relations Boards, and Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.
Gary's litigation practice includes claims representation in matters involving bodily injury and fatal accidents, product liability, commercial and contract disputes, construction and design professional liability, hospital and medical liability, fire losses, environmental claims, disability and life insurance claims, and insurance coverage disputes.
Gary has been an active member of the Canadian Bar Association throughout his career, and served on a number of its committees, including on the Executive of the National Insurance Law Committee. He is a frequent presenter at continuing legal education programs and insurance industry seminars on topics of insurance law and civil litigation practice. Gary has completed the Alternative Dispute Resolution training program with the Center for Dispute Resolution and is qualified as a mediator. He has also taken specialized training in fire investigation and fire sciences.
