We have a large practice acting as counsel to a number of Canadian chartered banks, trust companies, credit unions and other lending institutions and financial entities, on both local and national levels. We also act as counsel to individual and corporate borrowers and guarantors. Representation is provided to financial institutions in all aspects of financial transactions, including the taking of and realization upon security. We also advise financial institutions in respect of their lending practices, governance, regulatory and compliance issues. The firm regularly participates in the negotiation and drafting of amendments to federal and provincial legislation respecting financial institutions and their operations. We have extensive experience in local, national, and international financing projects.
