Profile
James carries on a broad legal practice with particular emphasis in business law and litigation. He acts for and advises local, provincial, national and international businesses and governments on their governance, organizational and related general business affairs and dealings, including the day-to-day management and operations of their interests.
James advises and serves on Boards of Directors of many diverse public and private corporations and organizations. Saskatchewan Business Magazine has recognized him as one of the most influential people in Saskatchewan.
James' practice includes civil litigation. As a litigator, he appears before all levels of Courts in Saskatchewan including the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench, Saskatchewan Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Canada and before numerous boards and administrative tribunals. He serves as a mediator and negotiator in various matters, including the resolution of contractual and commercial disputes.
James also practices in the areas of commercial and residential real estate and development, tax law, trusts and estate planning.
James is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan.
